About the coil pack on your car
The Coil Pack is a feature of newer and improved ignition systems that effectively replaces the older distributor based systems. The spark is controlled electronically through the electronic ignition system and the coil pack is the mechanism that sends the spark (electrical current) to each spark plug via leads (wires). Coil pack can build up electrical current to as much as 50,000 volts or more.
If your car is running rough, misfiring, has as sudden decrease in fuel efficiency or increase in fuel consumption, is hard to or does not start, you should have your car checked. A faulty or faltering Coil Pack may cause the ‘Check Engine Light’ in your dashboard to come on and this should be attended to as soon as possible.
We can check and if required replace your car’s Coil Pack, or other related system components such as Distributor, Ignition Coil, Ignition Module, Ignition Leads, Battery, crank angle sensors.
